COLD LAKE - As students pack their backpacks with a year’s worth of assignments and art projects at the end of the school year, Michelle Kaminski will be packing up a lifelong career as an educator.
After 30 years of working in education, Kaminski has decided to retire, leaving a lasting legacy of smiles, laughter, and connections to the staff, students, and entire Holy Cross Elementary community.
Her decision wasn’t made easily, but the thought of spending more time with her family was too tempting.
“I have loved working in Catholic Education. It has given me the opportunity share the Catholic faith and values with countless students over the years,” Kaminski said.
When asked to share her favourite memory from her time with the division, Kaminski simply said she couldn’t choose just one.
From seeing the happy faces of students each day to building connections with families, Kaminski has loved it all.
She has especially valued being a part of the team at Holy Cross, “who work so hard each day to ensure the students are growing spiritually, academically and socially.”
As she turns the page to a new chapter of her life, Kaminski is grateful for the years she has spent at Lakeland Catholic School Division.
“I would like to thank all of the teachers and support staff I have worked with over the years for all of their hard work and dedication to the young people in our community. The new principal at Holy Cross Elementary is very lucky to be able to join such a fabulous team, and will have the opportunity to work with an amazing group of students and parents. I will miss my Holy Cross family tremendously. May God bless you all.”
