Lakeland Catholic School Division Update
Classes will resume tomorrow — Wednesday, October 29 — following the Government of Alberta’s Back to School legislation, which officially ends the ATA strike and lockout.
Lakeland Catholic School Division looks forward to welcoming students and staff back into our classrooms. Schools will be open and operational, with student transportation services resuming.
We are grateful for the continued dedication of our teachers and staff, whose faith and commitment support student learning each day.

Lakeland Catholic support staff came together for a professional learning session on Understanding the Change Process.
The session explored change through both individual and organizational lenses, emphasizing how faith, collaboration, and compassion guide growth within our schools.
Through reflection and shared learning, staff reaffirmed that positive change strengthens our ability to serve Lakeland Catholic's students — and one another — with grace and purpose as we prepare for their return.

📘 💙Catholic Education Sunday
Today, we celebrate the gift of Catholic education, a place where faith and learning are anchored in Christ. Guided by His light, our schools are communities where hope is nurtured, knowledge is strengthened, and every child is seen as a precious creation of God.
“We have this hope, a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters the inner shrine behind the curtain.”
— Hebrews 6:18-19
As we reflect on this year’s provincial Catholic Education Sunday and Catholic education week theme, Anchored in Christ: A Beacon of Hope, we give thanks for the students, families, educators, and parish partners who journey together in faith, keeping our Catholic schools a radiant witness of God’s love!
We invite you to read this year’s special Pastoral Letters from the Catholic Bishops of Alberta, the Northwest Territories, and the Yukon, reflecting on the gift of Catholic education. Please note that Catholic Education Week has been postponed to May 9–16, 2026.

🍎 Happy World Teachers’ Day
Today, we celebrate the hearts and hands that shape minds, spark curiosity, and inspire students to grow in knowledge and faith.
Especially at this time, we recognize the immense value they hold in the lives of children, families, and communities. We keep teachers in our thoughts and prayers, grateful for the difference they make each day.

Congratulations to all our Coyotes who participated in yesterday's LSAA Cross Country Run.
Huge shout out to Alana who placed in the top 10!
We also want to recognized Rhys and Lyla who showed what being a Coyote is all about when they both stopped to help other students from different schools complete the race after they were injured.
We are so proud of the empathy you showed to your peers. ♥️
"In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:16
