Tomorrow is free hot lunch from Master Caterers and Holy Cross Elementary ! Please send snacks for snack time and and alternate lunch if you child doesn't wish to partake.

Today is the feast day of St. Patrick. On the announcements this morning, we took a moment to learn about the feast day.

Priority 2: After some very heavy snow this winter, Mrs. Mac’s Kinders trekked over to Shipwreck Park to see how deep the snow was. When we arrived, we were the first ones to walk through the fresh snow and students were shocked at how difficult it was for us to create a path. Students compared the depth in different areas of the park (on the play structure, on the grass area, by the swings, etc.) and discussed who it was deepest on. What a wonderful way for students to practice language used in measurement and comparison!

Tomorrow is Mercy Day!

March 17th

The students voted to raise money this month for our Social Justice Project. Tomorrow is Tonnie Tuesday!

Weather is warming up! We ask parents of all grades to send in extra clothes in your child’s backpack in case they get wet while playing outside. This will help with continued learning without disruption.

Evidence of learning evenings are scheduled on

Priority 2: Students in Mrs. MacNiven’s Kinder class have been learning to use their 5 senses and during Free Choice Centres they had the opportunity to explore ice - what does it look and feel like? What happens if we use it with paint? What about if we add salt or spray water on it? Everyone was able to explore in different ways, they asked thoughtful questions, and we learned a lot. Students were then able to connect this to the ice on the playground and why our custodians use sand and deicer.
Just a reminder tomorrow is a No School Friday!

Priority 2: Happy 100th Day! We had some dear “old” friends join us today for the 100th day of school in Mrs. MacNiven’s Kinder class and other friends brought collections of 100 things. Students participated in many different activities focusing on the number 100 throughout the day.

Priority 2: After the big snowfall in February, Mrs. MacNiven’s students headed outside for some fresh air and outdoor play as part of Physical Education and Wellness. The snow was sticky and excellent for building with so students worked together to create a giant snowman! These types of activities are key in developing the teamwork skills, spatial awareness, and communication skills that are needed for student success!

Priority 2: Mrs. Mac’s Kinders have been learning Numeracy skills through hands-on learning centres. Students are also practicing their collaboration and communication skills while working with their peers.
